Naturally treating a headache

Headaches
Tension is the most common cause for having a headache.

What to use: coffees, Bromelain, calcium supplement, Glucosamine Sulfate, lavender oils, magnesium supplement, peppermint oils.

  1. With the pads of your fingers massage your temples, back of the neck, the shoulders and the scalp.
  2. Take a hot shower/bath. You can also use a washcloth/heating bag and place it on the back of your neck. Put an ice pack on the forehead.
  3. Use lavender or peppermint essential oil for your bath, or use few drops for rubbing your temples and the nape of the neck.
  4. Have a herbal tea or chamomile and peppermint for calming the pain. A hot, strong coffee can relieve the congestive headaches.
  5. In case you have headaches quite frequently take supplements, such as calcium and magnesium for the muscular tension. The enzyme bromelain helps to reduce the inflammation, while the glucosamine sulfate is used for relieving pain.
  6. Loosen and relax your neck.
  7. Stay away from gum, ice drinks, salt and ice cream, as these can amplify the headache.
