Directions for treating hand burns

What to use: burn cream or moisturizer, gauze medical tape, acetaminophen.

  • You can treat a burn home if it's not black or blisters.
  • Put your hand under cold running water, or in a cold water bowl, until the burning sensation disappears.
  • Dry the burn area and then apply a thin layer of burn cream or moisturizer, so that the burn won't dry.
  • Use gauze to loosely dress the burn. Change it every time the gauze gets wet.
  • To kill the pain you can take acetaminophen.
