Stopping being a bulimic person

Bulimia

What to use: counselor, dietitian, personal trainer, support group.

  • The most important thing is for you to admit the fact that you have a problem  that can take your life away. Decide to change your life style and think about the fact that there is no excuse for you to harm your own life.
  • Address to a counselor specialized in eating disorders. He can offer you the support that you need in order to overcome bulimia. Friends and family support is also important, but the counselor knows exactly which steps you have to make.
  • Address to a dietitian in order to understand the need of food. This will help you gain a physical and mental safety. The counselor may collaborate with your dietitian in order for you to receive a team help.
  • It's important to exercise properly in order to regain the needed strength. It's advisable to consider a personal trainer to regulate the exercises that you are performing.
  • Attend a support group where you will see that there are many people suffering from your disease. This will make you understand the fact that you are not the only one fighting and will give you a sense of security. Let your friends and family support you, tell them exactly how you feel. Don't live in shame.
  • Find a person that could be your keeper, meaning the one that monitors your eating habits. The keeper has to be a person that you trust and that you will involve in the treatment process. It's important to establish boundaries with your keeper in order for fights not to occur.
