Dukan diet during pregnancy

Pregnancy is a stage of life in which not only special from the emotional standpoint, but from the physical, even if you started your pregnancy overweight. The diet of pregnant aims to stay healthy and ensure normal growth and development of your baby, so it is very important that you take the power forward during these nine months.

Many times you can see tempted with fad diets like the Dukan diet, that promise rapid weight loss.
However, it is important that before starting this diet, you wonder if its time for weight loss, and for this type of diet.

Apparently the method of Dr. Pierre Dukan diet has changed in terms of this special, such as pregnancy, suggesting that, you overlook the first phase or stage of attack and focus on the consolidation stage. Even there have been some changes to this stage to fit the needs of the mother and baby.

These changes diet

Increase fruit intake to two units (except bananas, grapes, cherries and nuts).

Eat 2 slices of bread at breakfast or any time of day. This bread can add fat curd cheese, butter or light margarine. You can also prepare a turkey or ham.

Includes pork or lamb without visible fat.

Add two servings of pasta, rice and diet or vegetables a week.

Eat a serving of cheese a day (40 gr. Skim cheese or low-fat).

One day a week you eat only protein.

These are the suggestions that are made so you can adjust the Dukan Diet to your stage of pregnancy.

My view on this is that pregnancy is not the best time to make a restrictive diet to lose weight. If you are overweight and need to lose kilos, your obstetrician will tell you how to do it or at least keep weight as not to raise too many kilos during pregnancy.

The pregnancy is a special time in which you must protect your health and that of your baby, so the Dukan diet or other fad diet can wait. Do not take chances! Take care, take care of your baby, trust your doctor and diet indicate you which will be best for both
